How to Decide on a Cosplay | Advice

Image
How to Decide on a Cosplay | Advice Hello everybody, today I will be talking about how to decide on a cosplay. Deciding these things can be very hard, the wrong choice can be regretful. Look at your resources. My Edward Elric coat. Take a look at your fabric, wigs, and other supplies. What can you make NOW? Or what do you have ready?  Yes, you can buy more supplies. But, if the convention is near. Or, if you're like me and spent all your money on the tickets. They can be expensive and hard to get.  Take a look at the panels. Same coat, but refurbished for Keith. Maybe you'd like to be part of a cosplay panel and you can make a costume for it. Or, there's a panel with voice actors from your favorite series you'd like to cosplay at. Think about your deadline and current interests.  You may like your Voltron cosplay, but be really into Undertale at the time and go as Undyne. Go in a cosplay that you will be excited about and happy...

Keith Kogane and Kyoya Ootori Cosplay | Work in Progress

Image
New Cosplays! Hey guys, I'm back and here to stay after a needed break. The school year got very busy, but you don't need to hear it! You came for some awesome cosplays! Please, keep in mind these are both works in progress. Keith Kogane You all remember my Edward Elric cosplay? Well, I took the red jacket, and folded/cut it to be smaller! I then hot glues strips of felt fabric for the yellow and white pieces. I am almost done, but I need to add the collar and possibly a zipper. I feel like using the base jacket saved much more money and overall improved the quality and efficiency.  I have some tuning to so and some more progress, but if you have any suggestions or comments, leave them below! Keith Jacket: Back Keith Jacket: Front Kyoya Ootori This next cosplay was made in about an hour! I will be wearing it to a cosplay panel, which I may post here. Kyoya Ootori is from Ouran High School Host Club. The school has a uniform, which all the ...

Kagamine Rin! | New Cosplay!

Kagamine Rin! | New Cosplay Hey, guys! It's Julia! Today I wanted to show you guys a new cosplay I'm working on!  I had attempted this in the past with my.... old cosplay blog. Let's just say, this one is going a LOT better than before. While of course, it's not perfect, it's pretty good for my skill level. If you guys do not know who Kagamine Rin is, she is a Vocaloid. Her first name is Rin, her last name is Kagamine. (Yknow, in Japan they say the last name first unless you're friends.) As you can see, I am not done with it at all. I have the ribbon, collar, and trim done. The collar is uneven, as you can see from the leaning on the back. It looks better once I put it on, but I still plan to fix it. The ribbon curves in intentionally to remove the flat look. I think it makes it look like leaves! The trim on the bottom was made with felt. I do not recommend doing this, but I fixed it. It made the bottom fan out and stick stra...

Posing Tips for Cosplay Photos | Tutorial

Posing Tips for Cosplay Photos | Tutorial Hey Guys, It's Julia! Today, I wanted to give you some tips I've learned from YouTube, cosplay contests, and personal photo shoots.  If you want some extra information, there are many YouTube videos.  This one helped me a lot:  How to Pose Like a Pro Silhouettes:  This was one of the points discussed in the video, and this truly works! I'm sure most people know about "Who's that Pokemon?" from the Pokemon anime. This is what I'm talking about. In this photo, you can tell this is obviously Pikachu. Even without minor details, colors, and a face. In photos, you should be able to be recognized as that character. I understand that some cosplays are hard to distinguish without the minor details. If this is the case, be sure to express your emotions. The silhouette should be able to be translated as, angry, sad, happy, and etc. To enhance this, try to keep your limbs apart so you will not create ...
